    Hey guys,

Running into some issues with the truck. Driving funny lately, most noticeable thing is the steering wheel. Seems to be extremely tight and when making turns, it almost wants to push back down to stay straight instead of letting me turn, if that makes sense. I’m thinking its my wheel bearings which would make sense; I had my tie rods, UCAs, Lower Control Arms and ball joints replaced about a year ago so I don’t believe it could be that.

My camber is still in alignment and everything seems okay, but feels like the wheel bearings because its mostly when i am moving my wheel drastically when I feel the “pressure” you could call it, just feels extremely heavy, almost like its fighting me wanting to turn.

Lastly, sometimes ill be driving and the steering will feel loose but as i drive and kind of wiggle my steering wheel, it tightens back up.

If anyone has had the same issue or knows what it could be please feel free to leave a message below.

    Thanks guys!

    Could be power steering related.
How is the fluid in the reservoir, any wet stains on the inner tie rod boots?
Edit... clean the screen in the bottom of the reservoir. Is the fluid nice and clear or is it almost black?

I wonder if it's the intermediate shaft issue. I had this happen over the summer, and lubed it up with WD a few times, let it soak, and then hit it with some lithium grease, and haven't had any issues since.

Looks like you have had a lot of suspension work for a 2014.

The intermediate shaft issue usually the steering is tight, then normal, then tight , then normal as you turn the wheel.

I think if it were the wheel bearings you would have many other issues popping up if they were worn to the point of effecting the steering.

Hey bud, appreciate the response. Drive shaft looks in good condition, still just greased her up. Going to be putting the truck on stands and testing for play soon. Thanks for everyone who replied!

Just lubed it up, seemed to be in good condition already. Tire seems slanted at angles which is odd, not quite sure what the deal is. Gonna be putting her on jacks soon. Thanks!

Just flushed the steering fluid, put some transmission cleaner and then re applied new DEX 3 steering fluid, so that is taken care of. Still having issues. Thanks for reply!

Difficult to turn in both directions, going to be putting the truck on a lift here soon. Will let you know the outcome. Thanks!

Sounds like the rack is dying or the ps pump is.

Did you clean the screen in the bottom of the reservoir? That screen gets gunked up and reduces the flow of fluid.

Didn’t see any screen, any pictures to help identify it? Just cleaned out the reservoir itself for the fluid.
