I just copped a bone-stock 2007 Tacoma Regular Cab with WRD, and I’m looking to upgrade the suspension to give it a 3- to 4-inch lift. I want to make sure it’s still capable off-road so I can hit the trails with the boys. Any recommendations on suspension kits that would work well for both on and off-road use?

Welcome to Tacoma World. Best advice? These are already very capable trucks without modification, you should drive it first and learn how it works before doing upgrades. But if you want to just do it anyways I'd stick to 2.5" lift or less since generally going 3" or more lift causes big problems or costs big money. A 2" to 2.5" lift with 33" tires makes for an extremely capable and strong offroad vehicle. Search the forums, read all that you can, it's all been done before. Good luck.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume he has a 2WD truck (guessing OP tried to type "RWD" but bungled it)
    If so, then this:
    Maxtrac spindle lift

4" lift. No problems to worry about since this lift (by itself) changes nothing in the geometry of the suspension (no frame cuts either). I'd probably suggest go a step further and throw some Bilstein 5100s on it for a big improvement in ride/handling (maybe a good pair of leaf springs also, forget those tallish blocks).
