If you live in the salt belt I’d steer clear of Fox they corrode and rust up like the titanic in short order.

The Performance Elite's have aluminum housings. No rust.

Disclaimer: I haven’t owned the dobinsons mmr shocks but it was an option on my list of choices so I did look into them.

I have had several brands of coil overs and just upgraded from the OME Bp-51 kit to the fox 2.5 DSC extended travel and 2.5x12 rears.

the BP51 had compression and rebound adjustment which was very appealing to me as most brands don’t have rebound adjustment. This ultimately caused me to spend more time tuning and tweaking them just because it was an option. Looking back, most of the time I didn’t actually need to adjust rebound.
The only thing I adjusted semi-regularly was compression when going from an all dirt 4x4 trip back to street driving (daily driving to/from work). I’d turn down the compression for a cushy ride on the freeway and turn up the compression when towing heavy.

With the fox 2.5 DSC I sent them to @AccuTune Offroad before installing them for the “adventure” type tune and they are dialed in! I adjust the compression knob a bit for daily driving vs high speed off road.

Also, I have zero signs of corrosion on my fox 2.5s but I’m in southern California so no road salt :D
Ultimately if you are someone who loves doing a lot of tuning for each different type of driving the dobinsons would be a great option. If you’re like me I just want to get my suspension dialed in once and only make a minor tweak between on/off road driving then get the shocks tuned and let it be.

I have the Fox PES. They have problems breaking adjuster knobs. If I were buying again tomorrow I'd look very hard at the Dobinsons.
