Alrighty guys and gals, it's quiz time. I know, I know, search feature. But what fun would that be? I'd much rather irritate the resident kindly old codgers of tacoma world. So let me ask a few questions, oh wise ones, and then I'll get off your lawn.

Disclaimer - I AM NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED AT ALL! I've owned a few taco's over the years and done some very minor mods, but really I'm just learning all this for the first time, strictly from this website. So be gentle. Lol.

So, I recently purchased this 2018 DCSB TRD OR. had around 40,000 miles on it when I purchased it. Whoever had it before me had definitely done some mods. The dealership listed it with a 3" lift. From what I've gathered, it has Bilstein shocks and coilovers in the front, OME aal in the rear with ? shocks. At one time it had a subwoofer or something because theres a knob to the left of the steering wheel that doesn't seem to do anything.

My questions for you KIND folks are as follows:
    1. Is previous owner on here? Any insight into the truck?
    2. What all am I running as far as suspension? From what I've heard Bilstein and OME are "good"? Can it be adjusted? Should it be squeaking really bad in the rear?
    3. I like the tires, but are these the "best" with this suspension setup? Can bigger tires be added later? I have a pretty bad "shimmy" when reaching highway speed. Maybe an alignment or balance will fix this?
    4. Any ideas on the mystery knob?

Again, I know I could spend hours searching to answer all these questions, but any help is MUCH appreciated.

Please change the title of your thread.

Help in the title line refers to those that require immediate attention and are stuck.

Refer to the bold; I'm not a 3rd gen owner but I'm just stating the obvious based on your pictures.

The dial is most likely for an aftermarket subwoofer.
KO2s very common tire here it gets the job done. It’s mostly to preference.
Rear is Old man emu rear with most likely an add a leaf
Front is OEM off road Toyota Bilsteins with what looks like a spacer.

Sheesh, seems like you bought someone else's "project" shall we call it. Personally I always try to avoid modded vehicles because of reasons leading to confusion. 40k miles on a truck that's two years old at most. Good luck finding out everything you want to know. It would help if you were somewhat mechanically inclined as it'd be easier to understand what you have and what's going on. But that's on you.

    Working on them
That Truck don't look bad the mods that can be seen are very minor so really no big issue with it they just went budget for lift with mild spacer in front and pair of Old man Emu shocks in back hard to tell from the pictures but possible Add a Leaf spring done in the back. As for the mystery knob as someone else said may have been for a subwoofer control only way to really tell is to pull that chubby hole panel out and see where the wires go.

You may have a Dakar leaf pack installed. That would be a plus.

Looks like a spacer lift in the front with stock springs/coils
OME springs with Dakar springs in the rear
Nothing can be adjusted on this setup as they are not the Bilstein 5100/6112 shocks.

The tires are BFG Ko2 tires. They are good tires and many here run them without issue. I'm just going to assume they're 265/70/17. You could go bigger but you will be trimming plastic in the wheel well or cutting the cab mount.

The shimmy could be alignment which may be out of spec due to the spacer lift. You may need new upper control arms to get it back in spec but the first thing I would do to investigate that would be to have the alignment checked.

The knob probably went to an aftermarket subwoofer.
