Suspension repair question

Hello folks! I lost the lower ball joint ballstud doing about 70 mph.

The great news is that I didn't flip, and the even better news is I now have a great excuse (have to really) replace the suspension.

The upper arm is torqued up pretty good, I'm missing my axle, the shock appears to need replacing ,and I suspect my steering gear got mangled as well.

I've never worked on suspension before, so thought I would post up the problem, what I've found as a solution, and ask this august forum for your advice, tips, and tricks.

If I go ahead and get new upper arms, other than the axle and steering linkage, is there anything I should plan on needing?

*Edit to add: If I go with the Old Man Emu kit, I still plan on keeping her as a daily driver that can more easily go on trails. How important are upgraded upper control arms, or can I stick with OEM?

Jon, if you don’t mind me asking, how many miles were on those ball joints and were they OEM? Also where you located?

 

220k miles I imagine, and I have no reason to believe they weren't stock. . .

I'm in WA, but the truck was in Maine for 7 years. Suspect that rust played an important factor.

 

Probably more to do with mileage, good thing this is all repairable. Good luck!
