Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like there's 2 bushings on top of my hat. I've been trying to find the cracked bushing part and I haven't seen a similar photo to mine. Can I just pop the cracked one off and that top bushing looks to be separate. Again correct me if wrong. Thanks in advanced

There should be a bushing on either side of the mount - it looks like maybe whoever put yours together put them both on top, or possibly put an extra on top for some reason.

Look underneath and see if there's a bushing under there where there should be. If there is not, you have your answer - pick up some bushings and put them where they belong. If there IS one underneath, you can take the cracked one off and see how the one on top looks when you re-torque.

Yeah I bought the truck second hand and previous owner had the suspension done. I've been worried about the cracked one so I kept digging for answers before diving deep. You're saying under the top hat there should be another similar bushing or under the whole strut?

Between the tophat and the frame of the truck. The bushings make a sandwich with the frame, to help dampen vibrations.

I don't think you can buy the rubber bushings separate. You'll have to buy new top hats, they aren't very costly. To change you have to compress the spring. Do you have a HD spring compressor?

I'm talking about the rubber bushing underneath the top nut and washer. Not the top hat bushing.

Yes, I know. I said you can't buy them separate.

The lower bushing is part of the top hat. You can purchase the top bushings separately. If it's not a drivability issue, I would wait until you have to replace the shocks to correct it.

I would change it now. If the rubber bushings degrade, the shock shaft will rub on the metal bushing in the top hat and, if left long enough wear it enough to fail.
