Hi crew, new member to the community (owner, modder, and forum peruser) and I'm looking for some advice before I pull the trigger on a suspension upgrade (front coil-overs, leaf springs, and rear shocks).

    Ride: 2013 Taco 4x4 V6 on 245/75/17 Falken WP3 (not installed yet)
Use: 75% on road, 25% off-road (deep backcountry, forest service roads, 4x4 trails)
Lift: Trying to get a 1.5" level lift with 2" being max. Not upgrading UCAs at this time.
Weight: Rear shell w/ planned platform/cabinet in bed. No plans for anything else heavy in the front and rear besides that and regular camping/wilderness gear (200-300lbs).
Build: Pretty much your standard weekend warrior but with extra attention paid to ride comfort and gas mileage. A Lightweight Overlander.
    Budget: ~$1,500 parts

I was looking at the Wheeler Off-Road package because the price is pretty unbeatable for all the various components. The only thing I'm most concerned about is the All-Pro standard leaf springs since the advertised lift of 3" is a no go for me. However, I'm planning on installing a platform/cabinet in the bed in the near future. Any good guesses on where I would be sitting with a setup like that?

I love the idea of the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo but I'm not sure if I really need the rear reservoir. Does anybody run the 6112 with 5100's in the rear? Or is the mismatch not advised? That would free up some of my budget to go with different leaf springs, like the Deavers. I've heard both styles of OME Dakars ride pretty stiff without a lot of weight on them but it's also a choice on my list.

The OME complete standard suspension kit looks good as well, however, I would prefer a Bilstein build. Any insight on a OME vs Bilstein 5100 build? Their intro stuff is about same price depending on which leaf spring I pick out to match with the Billy's.

If you'd made it this far. Thank you so much for your help and input. I'm super green to all of this so anything is helpful. Much love ya'll.

If budget constrained; 6112’s are overkill for light overlanding. Go 5100’s on all 4 corners. That should leave some room In the budget.

I was wondering if I was starting to get tunnel vision with everyone around here talking about the 6112/5160 combo when the 5100's would be fine for what I'm doing. How much wheelin do I have to be doing to justify the upgraded Bilsteins? Hard to quantify something like that I suppose... Would higher end leaf springs more of a return on investment than upgraded shocks?

    Thanks!
