No problem really. I just want to lol. For a more comfortable ride on and off the trail. I just so happen to carry a load all the time, so these OME ones seem to fit the profile of what I was looking for.
What does a tacoma with an upgraded suspension ride like?
In a TRD off road, is it noticeable better than the sr5?

So you're saying you're looking to change the suspension that comes stock on the trd off roads?

I drove a stock 2016 SR5 for 4 years, a stock 2020 OR for 1 year, and a 2020 OR with king shocks and ARB leafs for 2 years and I think there is negligible difference during daily driving. I only notice a difference during towing a 2300 lb boat, hauling heavy loads, Midwest rock crawling (because of the extra clearance), and driving fast and aggressive on trails, very rough forest roads, and the like.

Toyota designed a very nice truck that works fantastically unless you take it outside its comfort range.

When I go off roading its normally thru rough roads, I really try my best to find places people can't bring rvs to easily lol but im not rock crawling by any means....however, that being said, if I HAD the option to do more technical trails and higher obstacles because of an upgraded suspension, I totally would.

    This is what im eyeballing

If you have the desire, the knowledge, and the money there’s little reason not too. I denied myself a lifted 4x4 for a majority of my life out of practicality, but I’m happy I have one now. Mind you, I didn’t modify my truck in any way until I understood it’s weaknesses via experience

Weakness, good point. What are the cons of a 2" lift?

I didn't say that. I said get what you need for what you're doing.

I don't need a Porsche right now but when I do I'll buy one.

Money, time, decreased down travel, higher center of gravity, (maybe) worse aerodynamics, harder for short people to get out in and out, harder to fit in a garage, and maybe a few others I am forgetting.

Every system you look at has accumulated problems from knowledge of use by others. Tribal knowledge. I wouldn't go by what anyone says. I would go on YouTube and pull up videos on all the major providers of what suspension you are interested in and learn the capabilities of. Evaluate then decide. You may very well like the kings. If money is no problem you could buy them too.
The OME system for example has had some problems. I considered the BP 51 at one time but realized that others had shown the system to have failure points.
Nothings perfect but get what you need is better than what you don't.
For the record I'm not bashing kings I live 15 minutes from the factory. If I had a need for them they be the first one on the list but I don't. From what the OP stated in his opening post I personally don't think he needs kings either but then again I could be wrong.
I'm not a fanboy of anything I just know what works for me and when the question is related to what I know I give that advice.

Iv been told by others who have used Fox Resevoir shocks that they tend to overheat easier vs king if youre doing fast/heavy offroad. I still want to run FOX myself but I will consider fox/king/icon for the right price and set up for myself. I dont wanna do heavy rock crawling but would like to do lots of overlanding, back trails etc so I can wake up deep in nature.

Well, I have the TRD pro that comes with the stock Fox 2.0.. so they have served me well with the post above. I'm just ready to upgrade to tackle other 10% trails I wasn't able to do. But also there's a limit of what I can accept of what my rig can do. But yes I'm changing my set for long travel and also upgrading my LCAs, UCAs, CVs etc. So going to that next level of relocation and other upgrades that I do will be a fun project for me. Might be overkill for some but entry level for some..

but for what you plan on doing, the OME kit would be great deal.

I was leaning to doing something like this..

… but you’re going to be paying to upgrade front and rear bumpers? I see those as a nice-to-have but way after a good suspension.

I really liked my OME setup on mine. I went with 884 coils in front for less lift. It worked out to about 2”. 2.5” and up is hard on some of your components and to me it wasn’t worth it. I ran the full Dakar leaf pack in the rear and the ride and lose handling was far better than stock.

    1. Good tires. LT rated. (At least 32’s if you’re going to lift)
    2. Good suspension.
    3. Recovery gear
    4. Gas, food, beer
    5. Armour.

And for what it’s worth, I’ve only ever broken (snapped) one shock absorber - it was a 5100… and I wasn’t abusing it at all.

Quite frankly with a good set of tires you could do a lot with doing anything to your vehicle. These trucks are extremely capable. They are IFS so lifting them can really change a lot of geometrical relationships to the whole system of the suspension. You have to be careful with that.
I'm gonna attach a video for you to check out. Yes I know it's an FJ but there are very small differences between the Tacoma and the FJ suspension. This gentleman is going to make a video or videos specifically for the Tacoma soon. Check it out.
