A full pack will give you 2.5” of lift in rear so you’ll have a bunch of rake. The single aal will give you 1.5”. The 3 leaf progressive aal without the overload leaf will give you 1-1.5”

And yes, while im not sure about travel if 5100 in rear, i had a 2.5” block in back and it seemed to top out everytime i dropped of a speedbump. I would hear a clunk on the drop. I think you would need a longer shock if you plan on full leafpack at 2.5”. At 1-1.5 is good range for 5100

I have a Dakar medium pack in the rear and about 1" over stock with just general recovery gear in the bed and the rear half of my sliders' weight on the rear axle. If you are carrying a bunch of tools go with the heavy pack. It will work fine with the 5100s just use a taller bumpstop but the upgrade to 5160s is very nice and not too expensive.

what is the load capacity of the medium duty leafs? I have a topper, sliders, as well as about 200lb of tools that I carry(not every day but a few times a week) is the heavy duty a stiffer ride than the medium? or would removing a leaf from the hd leaf pack put me at the same ride quality as the MD

The HD will be a stiffer ride but it will keep your rear from sagging and giving you Carolina squat. I have sliders and the factory tonneau plus a hi-lift, MaxTrax, axe/shovel and chains. I’d say you have about 100lbs more than I do when you carry the tools. So you will get a little less than 1” over factory with the MD and 2” with the HD.

Removing a leaf from the HD will make it identical to the MD. It’s cheaper to buy the HD and remove one than add later. My advice would be to try the HD and if it is too much lift or not compliant enough then remove one.

That is exactly what I am doing. I am installing sliders, bed rack, and RTT. Will see how it looks with the HD and if it is too much rake I’ll remove the leaf. Fronts are getting Headstrong top plates.

is there a difference between the extended 5100 and the 5125? they both seem to have a longer travel over the regular 5100. So on the hd Dakar you would need to run a longer shock. yes?
