Hello I’m looking for a 1.5 inch lift all the way around. I’m looking to upgrade suspension for comfort mainly. What is the best option for me.

What's your budget. 500$, or $20k? On road, or off road. if both, how much of each? 50/50, 75/25? Lots more info would be good on your use case.

OEM TRD Pro fox take offs are the best ride IMO. Toyota spent a lot of R&D with Fox to dial them in. Depending on the year it will add 1.5" lift up front and then I recommend an icon rtx add a leaf.

Bilstien 6112 / 5160 combo is effectively the old pro setup and works well as a mild lift and improvement of ride.

You'll need new rear leaf springs, add-a-leaf only really works on new, so you'll need to start down that rabbit hole as well.

Do you have any additional weight on or in the truck? Armor of any kind, bed racks, tool boxes?

Can you elaborate on the second half of that. AAL only works on new?

If there was ever a more subjective term, I do not know what it is. Can you help me understand what you mean by "comfort"? My definition of a comfortable ride is a stiff suspension - I cannot stand squishy rides. That is me though. What is it about the stock suspension that you find uncomfortable? This may help with the community's suggestions.

King 2.5’s with adjusters from accutune front and rear, 88 rotors rear add a leaf, Camburg X-joint UCA’s, Factory style trd pro 16” wheels with 0 offset, 285/75/16 KO2’s, pro grille, Front bumper viper cut, trd front skid plate, full RCI under skid plates, Cali raised trail sliders, exhaust cut dump, KDMax 10.0 tune
I’m not sure if I would go with this option. Trd pro take offs are usually over priced for what they are.

So leaf springs rely on curve, they fatigue and flatten over time.

When an add a leaf is placed, it assists and works with the other springs to retain curve and height.

If the factory springs are worn/flat, the curved add a leaf takes most of the weight and will act as a lift for a short term, then will flatten very quickly.

Okay so in your case I would probably agree with @Bishop84 that a good "maintenance-free" setup would be something like the Bilstein 6112 up front paired with Bilstein 5100 or 5160 out back. They ride well for lifted applications, and don't ask for a rebuild every couple of years. If you're okay with pulling shocks off and rebuilding every 2-3 years then I would probably say to go with something like a Fox 2.0 setup front and rear.

As for the rear lift situation I would guess you're only asking for 1-1.5" of rear lift to be level or slightly maintain rear rake. I fly in the face of many others' recommendations when it comes to rear lift scenarios. Sure, your leaf packs are probably not still spring chickens (no pun intended), but unless you tell me that you tow or load down frequently they're probably "ok". You can probably get away with getting your small rear lift by way of a small block out back, and then just be off to the races.

Hey @Hauser94 Just an another vote for what @memario1214 Colton is saying. He’s helped many a member here and I’ve heard nothing but good things from his shop.

I’ve got the Ironman Foam Cells, but you saying you want a comfy ride knocks them out of the running. They are a great lift but paired with E rated tires makes them a little stiff. Could also just be feeling the bumps through the tires I’m feeling and not the suspension.

People need to start peaking at a lot of factory trucks, many many of them have leaf blocks oem. Even the TRD kit has it. Same ride, slightly higher. Just need a longer shock, done.

I feel like i bounce a lot in my truck not like crazy but I do feel a lot of bounciness when going over mild bumps in the road. So I guess I’m looking for something a bit stiffer?

Thank you for the thorough response. I am a complete rookie in the lift game. Can you explain to me the difference of lift vs suspension. I was under the impression that adding bilsteen 5100 or 5160 in the back is lifting the rear. Why rhe need for a block or leaf pack?

‘Because the rear shocks do not provide lift. Rear lift can be provided by the rear leaf springs or by adding a block under the spring.

On the bottom, OEM leaf pack with 1.5 “ block. On the top OME replacement.

Which is better out of the 2, a whole new leaf pack or bloc?
