Hey guys, I know hardly anything about suspension upgrades so bear with me here, I recently added a super pacific shell on my 2013 Tacoma, added about 370lbs. I would like to upgrade the rear suspension to accommodate the added weight n then some for an extra 400-600lbs. I do a bit of off roading to get out to camping spots but not much if any rock rock climbing. I am in California, so I am sure prices are a bit high but this seems wild. I guess I am not sure if I need all this stuff or it is totally top of the line and there is stuff that would be a bit cheaper. Here is estimate from the shop and my truck

    Looks about right.
    They are selling good stuff.

Personally, I would have went 5100’s with AAL.
    But I am cheap.

If you are paying someone to do it, the labors hours are the same.
So might as well get the “better” stuff.

Price looks fine for someone else to do the work. also look into replacing the needle bearing on the front clamshell differential with an ECGS Bushing

Yeah, I also don’t have all the tools to do it myself and know it would take me two days and cost a ton buying all the tools. I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a ton of stuff I didn’t really need. The guy from the shop was super cool n told me to ask some Tacoma guys what they think n hit him up later.

I'm cheap like @TnShooter and pretty much did what he mentioned, but also added a set of Sumo Springs. I often load my truck, cap and utility trailer up with dirt bikes, camping gear and other necessary supplies. The set up handles just fine, empty or loaded.

I'll echo what others have said that the prices look fair.

I went with the same Deaver stage II leaf pack which is "better" than the cheaper AAL route. I couldn't be happier with the Deaver setup, rides super smooth and handles the weight perfectly. 10/10 I'd do it again. Expect it may need some break-in period for the ride to smooth out though.

Also I had the same Bilstein 6112/5160 combo before I upgraded to Fox 2.5's and I wouldn't hesitate to run them again, great shocks.

You should be able to save $700+tax by skipping the Camberg UCAs.

Did you specifically request those or is that a shop recommended item - and why?

Also, you may be able to save a bit by going with the @ARCHIVE leaf springs.

I have something like that. Wouldn’t spend $4-5k on it. That’s not what it’s worth.

bought RXT used. UCAs. 6112/5160. 6112 was like $750ish.

a cheap basic set of tools is pretty capable. Some extent of that should be kept in the truck at all times.
I forget what size bolts hold the leafs. 18mm or something?
    It’s not a spaceship bolt.
Just a regular bolt for a regular tool.

archive hadnt come out with the leafs at the time of getting RXT

part of the point of 6112/5160 is it being significantly cheaper than Fox for thousands of dollars.

buddy had 6112/5160 on a 4runner with mild lift and stock UCAs. Probably cost him under a grand.
