Suspension ?????

    I'm new to the lifted truck scene. I don't do any off roading. I just like the look of the truck. The front has Icon coil overs set at 2.5 inches. The rear is stock. I want to lift the rear to make it level. What is the easiest way to accomplish this. I was gonna go the lifting block route since its only for looks. Should I also replace the rear shocks. If so what shocks are recommended. Also would a 2inch block make it level. Thanks for any info.

    Leveled is 1.75 or 2 (every truck is a little different). So 1" is plenty. And as far as using blocks goes, I wouldn't want to use anythign larger than 1" or else you'll run into more problems. If you're concerned - go with AAL.

    That is some crazy amount of rake - maybe its just the picture :confused:

    Measure vertically from the Center of the hub to the bottom of the fender on all 4 wheels. The difference is how thick the block needs to be. Based on a 2.5" lifted front, you should only need a 1" block, but by the looks of the picture - I'd guess your difference is larger than 1", which doesn't seem right... Maybe the leafs have settled a bit in which case you're best bet is a new Dakar leaf pack.

    I'd go with an AAL. I've got the Icon 3-leaf AAL and am happy with it. You've got such a nice setup in the front, why go with the crappy lift for the rear? I understand that it's not for off roading but you still want it to handle and drive nice.

    I will measure all four locations and post back the results. Maybe then we can have a more definite answer. Although 1" lift seems to be the favorite. What about shocks. Will those be necessary. Whether its the blocks or leaf springs. Thanks guys

    take any measurements?

    new shocks will depend on your measurements. you can buy Bilstein shocks for a cheap price if you're concerned with your stock shock's travel. I have no experience with it, but i've seen people on here run stock shocks with a 1" block or AAL without any issues - depends on your application though.

    ok so finally got some measurements. Here they are:

    Left Front - 23 3/4
    Right Front - 24

    Left Rear - 22
    Right Rear - 22

    So would a 1" block do the trick to level it out or would i need a 2" block. What about shocks. Will they be necessary.

    Looks like you need to raise the rear about 2" so I'd go with a 2" AAL if it were me or the Icon AAL and leave the overload in place. If you don't off road, stock length shocks will be fine although the stock shocks might not do a great job dampening the stiffer leaf pack. I went with the Icon leaf pack and left the overload leaf in place for a total lift of 2". It rides great and I'd definitely recommend the product.

    Lower the coilovers until it's level! You don't need to do anything to the rear! :smack:

    I don't own a Taco anymore.
    2" AAL from Toytec gave me a .5-1" rake. Should level you out nicely.

    I want to use the lifting block method so my questions is this:

    So with the measurements i have will a 1" block or a 2" block level the rear. And would i need to replace the shocks.

    by the way do you get any weird vibrations with that much front lift?

    with 1" block I'd say you're probably fine without new shocks. with 2" I'd say get some shocks.

    as far as AAL. go with Icon 3 leaf progressive from DSM or Wheelers 3 leaf progressive. for about 1.75" of lift. they're around $170-180

    So given the measurements I have, and if I go with Wheelers 3 leaf progressive AAL, would that get me level or would I still have bro lean. I want it to sit level. Sorry for all the questions

    If you get the 3-leaf progressive from Wheeler's or Icon, the advertised 1.5" of lift is with the overload leaf removed. Keep the overload leaf in place and you gain an extra 1/2" which would put you damn near dead level.
