Returned June 17, 2017 from 16 day 3000 mile trip through AZ, NM, CO, and UT in a new 2017 4X4 OR Access Cab. The truck is completely stock and did well in rough terrain and fairly well on the highway. I used ECT and S mode on the highway to reduce downshifting. Overall 20 mpg. We did not pull a trailer. The snow was still deep in the Colorado high country and a couple of passes we tried were still blocked by snowdrifts.

What a great trip. My Tacoma is a 2016 version of your truck.

I don't have a specific waypoint list, but the 4WD trails are in Wells and Peterson's Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails and the same authors' book for Arizona.

Specifically for Colorado we did trips 56 (Lower Bross Mt), 58 (Weston Pass), and 99 (Medano Pass).

In AZ we did trip #1 (Toroweap Overlook). Most people doing this one probably camp overnight at the Grand Canyon NP campground, but it's suitable for a day trip if you leave early. It's about 80 miles one way from Kanab, UT, 60 of which are good dirt road, and the last 3 miles of which are primitive dirt road.

In Utah we drove UT Hwy 12 from Torrey to Cannonville, then took Cottonwood Rd which begins in Kodachrome Basin State Park south to it's junction with US 89. This route takes you through part of Grand Staircase-Escalante N.M.

Toroweap Overlook, Grand Canyon N.P., North Rim, June 15, 2017. My wife and I were the only people here that morning.
