I think a loop would be needed and incorporate it.

I don’t think it would be worth just doing it as it’s maybe a days worth of driving. I’m I know a good bit of dirt between Bradford and Kane. Finding trails to get over there should be too hard.

I’ve got a Cobra 75x waiting to install. I’m thinking of mounting my fire stick on my bed rack. Any recommendations on how/where to mount/run the coax?

Just picked this bad boy up on Amazon. I don’t know what I’m going to do on the antenna yet besides my quick magnet mount.

i got a bed mount with the firestick coax mount. the one that goes under the antenna. there is enough room to sneak it past your tail light and in the beside to your cab.

for just wheeling trips a magnetic mount will work just fine. i have a 3' and 5' firestik as well as a 102" whip. the whip looks bad ass and by far works the best, but hits on my cap tied down. the 5' obviously works second best but doesnt let me pull into my garage or drive throughs. lol so for every day i use the 3'.

i also have an SWR meter if you guys want to check your setup out.

This sounds fun. My friend has a place close by up there I could camp on in James City, and I have taken my boat up that way to the Allegheny Res. If you guys are up for another straggler on that run I would probably take my boat and spend more than a day there.

@PlatinumCloud i‘m all set for tomorrow. I put some new meat on the Taco this morning. Got the small CB figured out for this truck. We’re ready to hit the trails.

Sweet Sweet on the new shoes. i can honestly say the ko2's are a fantastic all around tire. STT Pros are by far my favorite choice but i dont get good mileage due to all the wood i haul. i think my last ones were shot around 16K. i switched to the ko2's again. i didnt really have any issues when i tool them to WV while i was in 4wd. that said i could almost go anywhere in 2 with the STT's. all that said im looking for another set of wheels.

i actually have a very close friend in MT. Jewett that i ride dirtbikes and dualsports with. im up that way quite a bit actually.

@Loco_Driver do you have an actual address for that gas station?

These are my 7th pair of BFG A/T’s. I HAD 3 pairs in my Durango(put 200k on that SUV), a pair on our suburban, and 2 pairs on our 4Runner. Every time I shy away from them I wish I didn’t. I agree, they are the best all around tire. I do the same, hauling wood through the hollers, towing trailers, driving through lots of snow, and going through trails. I find that these expensive tires give you their money’s worth where other tires barely make it to 20k. These KO2 tires end up getting out of round before their treads run out, where at that point I just don’t speed. I had the stock tires on my taco(it’s at 18k) and they were pretty shot. I was worried I wasn’t going to be getting the KO2s anytime soon since of the COVID ordeal, but my mechanic buddy is a bad ass and pulled through. The old tires were so bad that I couldn’t tow a 2500lb trailer on flat ground through wet barely snow covered grass in WV last week.

surprisingly i liked the rugged trails. i got 33 k out of them. but for a little more you get BFG. i rotate my tires religiously at 3k and havent seen any issues yet with roundness. ive got around 20k on them now and still running strong. they dont do anything specifically well, but dont suck at anything either. when i was wheeling in WV it really impressed me how well they did. especially in dry environments. and they did fine in the mud. getting 40k out of them is a plus too.

i order my tires through discount tire direct and they are here within a day. i have the local shop that does my alignments put them on for me for around $20 a tire.

all that said nothing beats a fresh tire!

Here is a look at @PlatinumCloud and my adventure through Fayette County, PA. I have a stock Tacoma Off Road M/T, and it did a really good job on some decent sized obstacles. It was some pretty intense back country, and we did just fine without using any winches or straps, although there was a chain involved to try and move a log.

    IMG_7731.jpg

The trail involved some nice rock obstacles, a nice squeeze point where our Tacomas had maybe 1/2 of an inch to spare on both sides between a large cut down tree after working it a little, and a water crossing.

All in all, this trail was a great run to see what the limits of a stock truck are. It was a lot of fun. We entered the trail around 1:00 PM, and had to turn around at the bottom due to the trail ending. It does go on, but it hasn't been maintained for some time and is grown over. After turning around, we were able to get back to hard top around 5.

    I’m dumb with electrical components.

This is the end of my CB Power. Where does it go onto the truck?
