All the lands here around me aren’t legal to camp in because they state game lands.

We have a Harley sportswriter with backpacking gear. We would just have to stay more on heavier weight motorcycle friendly land. I’d say the limit for us on the sportster is a hilly dirt road in WV, meaning we can go pretty extreme, but are limited to street tires.

I had read that the rear mounts on the 3rd gen have a little rubbing due to the lesser clearance between the tailgate and rear light. We decided to go with a ditch light mount.

@PlatinumCloud do you have any good PA spots we could 4x4 to?

WV is out of the picture from their stay at home order. Allegheny county is also.

    Whelp....

ALL OF PENNSYLVANIA NOW UNDER ORDERS TO STAY HOME

Update courtesy Fayette Area Coordinated Transportation [FACT]

Gov. Tom Wolf has placed all of Pennsylvania under an order to stay at home, dramatically expanding the geographic footprint of the quarantine as state officials combat the coronavirus pandemic. In one stroke, Wolf added 34 counties to his stay-home edict, meaning that residents of all 67 of Pennsylvania’s counties must now stay home as much as possible to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Coronavirus infections are continuing to rise dramatically in the state, with nearly 1,000 new confirmed cases reported Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania State Police will no longer respond in person to some types of calls.

Welcome @Wells410. I’m over in the hills of Fayette County. So... I was thinking last night...and I thought how they can’t stop us if we have chainsaws and are going to get wood. It’s just like fishing to eat. They can’t stop you if that’s what you do to survive. I use it for life sustaining purposes. I legit have a complex where I can’t use my perfectly fine furnace, and still need another 3 cords of wood. And that just means I’ll have to get wood in some tricky places, and may need some help. And it’s very easy to do this in a socially distant way...I’m on a mission to get some Locust and Oak.

PA is supposed to be on lockdown but im working everyday.

we got a couple of cases here at work. so im laying low from everyone right now. Were still working tho. my brother was in directly contact with one of the people.

there are some places i know to do some wheeling, but ill start working on putting a loop together. TBH the more north or south you are from pgh the easier it is to camp.

Ive been off two weeks today. Since wolf did the shut down of non essential business, and commercial construction is not deemed essential I suppose

I turn wrenches on Cats for Cleveland Brothers, we've been off for a week now. With construction being down we have nothing to work on. Although, I'm glad to be self isolating at home in the sticks rather than pushing a broom in Murrysville.

Well I think I have my CB operational. I tuned channels 1, 19 and 40 and they are in range. I’m picking up weather perfectly clear. Does that mean I’m good to go? I went on the highway in scan and picked up absolutely nothing, but very few truckers where out.

    Mounted to my bed rack

@disconnected You’re most likely good. It’s pretty common to be ignored on the freeway for whatever reason. Good job man.

The weather comes in crystal clear, I was running scan with the squelch on. I made no attempt to transmit.

your probably good, that being said best to check with a SWR meter. you can receive as much as you want without issues, but if your SWR is too high you can/will burn up your CB eventually. i have one your more than welcome to use once all this crap goes away.
