Hope I'm doing this trip report thing right....

Took a long drive up north to run Swamp Route (Swamp Lake Trail, whatever you'd like to call it)
with a buddy of mine with another solid axle tacoma.

Overall, I would suggest any moderate/hardcore wheeler to give this trip a go. Boulder fields, beautiful views, high altitude and a private lake? What more could you really ask for. The weather was in the high 60-70s all weekend and dropped to about the mid to high 30s at night. Perfect if you ask me. Going this time of year really thinned the herd as most people go in the middle of the summer. We only saw 3 guys on dirtbikes the whole weekend.

I wouldn't suggest any tires smaller than at least a 33 and at least a locker, and that you could possible get some body damage.

    More pics to follow.

First camp before the trail head. We took the southern access route

Poser shot opportunities cannot be passed up haha. This was shortly before the trailhead.

Some trail shots before the lake.

I believe this is the highest part of the trail at 9600 feet

Swamp Lake, the view from camp.

This part of the trail is heading away from the lake going back up to the main trail, we went and checked out the mine (very small haha) then headed back to the lake for some fishing.

This spot was marked on the trail map as "difficult boulder field" lol

After the boulder field its mostly downhill with a good amount of tight squeezes

This little crossing is right about near the end of the actual trail.
