It’s finally done! The last pic shows the single wire I ran to ground the antenna. It follows the coax straight down and bolts to the frame near the front of the leaf spring.

Coax follows the same harness on the inside that provides power and ground to the CB itself

Pictured is just the P/G from aux panel to CB

Install looks good n clean!

However, you shouldn't ground the antenna. Only the antenna's mount. i.e. your corner bracket.

Ok so that’s why kelly and Dylan said to put the eyelet between bottom of the bracket and the fire wire, easy enough to swap! Thank you Nick

@ChadsPride basically ordered the identical stuff that @tacopromatt has after speaking with him. It was pretty easy to do just takes a little time to run it. And the stick is 2ft tall so I can pull in the garage :fingerscrossed:

@dirty deeds my corner bracket is powder coated and I didn’t wanna remove the coating, would that still work for grounding the bracket?

Try getting your SWR in spec where it is now. Try again with moving the ground wire to where think it works.

If neither work, gonna have to :sawzall::welder:

Ok as far as tuning the radio and tuning the antenna, I’m an idiot. Will need a lesson/pointers/cliff notes/etc :D

I have the exact same setup. Corner bracket, antenna, wire, etc. I ran a ground from the mounting bolt of the corner bracket to my frame. Didn't scrape off any paint from the brackets and my CB works great.

My bracket is only painted so I imagine the holes themselves are now bare metal due to the antenna and bolt's threads wearing the paint away. I'm sure I have a ground, not sure how great it is though. As long as the CB works... :lalala:
