Did a few things this week

Got Rigid Amber covers for the Ditch lights




Then I bought DEPO headlights and sealed them with clear silicone and let them dry for a day before installing them to prevent any moisture issues which is hit and miss with these housings



Then I installed 194 Amber LED side markers, 3157 Amber LED turn signals (I have the retrofit source led relay replacement for the fuse box coming which eliminates the need for resistors wired to each bulb) and I installed the new Morimoto 2stroke 2.0 LED headlight bulbs




I also took a side by side comparison showing the 2stroke 2.0’s effective output which mimics the halogen “cut off” so as not to scatter the light all over. It’s actually a really cool design they did with the bulbs themselves.



The headlights are simple yet clean and I don’t have a ton of wires run like you do with retrofits.

I will take a full front view pic tomorrow when @ChadsPride comes to my house for a little mod day on his truck

 

Looking good. I wish I could come hang and install my bumper and LEDs tomorrow, but work has called me in this weekend. Oh well, more OT for me.
Also those led relays are totally worth their weight in gold. I ran one on my 03 and had no complaints.

@because_minitruck i do have a brand new set of LEDs for your tundra that are plug and play with the can-bus drivers if you wish to call dibs

 

I'm about 80% sure my 06 doesn't use canbus. I think that may have started on the 07 model. What location are we.talkong about?

 

Yeah me too. I really want to install my bumper and can't do it alone. The wiring is easy and I can do it in about 30 mins.

 

I may have labeled that wrong lol. It’s a 9003 (Tacoma and tundra) led kit with small drivers built into the harness like all the other good kits. It’s PIAA brand and they are stupid bright and brand new in box

 

Call in sick! Lol let’s install it!

 

Reminds me I still have some new in box Lifetime LEDs I need to sell. I paid way too much when they were new. Probably only worth a quarter of that now. Also 9003

It was a good deal I couldn't pass up. Plus one of these days I'm inevitably going to accidentally back into one of the assholes that always park by my driveway

 

Well it will serve them right for parking there
