My buddy rolled his 96 tacoma v6 standard, and is looking to purchase another parts pickup to swap the cab, fenders, etc.. But he had a good question that I couldnt answer. What years will fit his 96 and since his is manual would a cab from an automatic fit his manual?

My guess is the cabs are the same as the clutch pedal and brake hangers are in stalled at the factory as required, same goes for the trans, call a salvage yard they have a interchange book and can tell for sure.

I swapped my cab out with a different one but that was on an 82. Fun stuff.

you might have to cut the floor for the shifters but other than that should be a straight forward swap

you think so even with being a 96 going to like an 04? wouldnt it need to be 95.5-2000? or is it just the flares thats different on the cabs?

i think the only difference between the cabs of a 96 and a 04 would be the interior  but it should swap in with little modification
