today i swapped my magnaflow for my old flowmaster 40

the magnaflow was bought at a junkyard for 5 bucks and i have no clue how old it was.. i replaced it with my old flowmaster that i bought new. it has about 1 year and half before i replaced it..

when the magnaflow was cut down, i picked it up and turned it up and around. it was broken.. i heard the pieces all shattered and shaking inside.

the flowmaster that i have on right now, isn't as loud as it was before.
or if my ears serve me correct, the magnaflow was a lot louder. It may be because the Magnaflow was broken.

but still i thought the flowmaster 40 in the end would be the Louder muffler between the 2.

im happy though, i changed a broken muffler.. but i still want to make it LOUDER!

sorry to hear that man, but the good news is you can make it louder, a lot louder actually. Some long tube headers coupled with a y pipe will get you there in a hurry!

I've heard some good things about the Flowmaster 40 Series muffler for 1st Gen 3.4L. I'm thinkin about replacing my stock on my 2001 for the sound. I've heard conflicting reports on how it effects hp and torque. Some say they've seen a slight increase, others say they see a slight drop. Right now the only mod I've got is a deckplate for my intake, but I plan on headers in a couple of months. I don't care if there's no power increase but I don't want a decrease, does anyone know what the performance is on a 1st Gen 3.4l?

You will not get any performance (mpg or hp) by just adding any muffler. Or removing it for that matter. Which btw vincent will make your truck nice and loud. 1st generation tacos with a 3.4L do sound great with a flowmaster but have such a restrictive exhaust system that a muffler does little for the flow. You want better mpg remmove the 2 cats and put a highflow one in and put some headers on. makes the truck sound real nice and will increase fuel mileage. (provided you can stay off the gas)
