My little brother got a 99 regular cab 2rz 5speed with a rotten frame.

a friend of mine is giving me a 70’s style pickup with a bunch of trail gear stuff, air lockers yada yada.

anyways, i was wondering how possible it’d be to swap the cab and motor from the 1st gen onto the 70’s frame?

should i keep the 20r trans or get one from a 22r/re?

is this just a pipe dream?

i can put it together and wire/weld whatever no problem, i just want to develop a game plan and get all the right parts together before we start taking stuff apart.

any help or 2 cents would be very much appreciated.

Yeah if you gotz teh tools and skillz anything is possible . . . . a short real life parable . . .

I knew a guy who took a Vega, put a Chevelle diff in it (I think, it was a 6 bolt anyway) and stuffed a V-8 under the hood, required lots of mods. The real problem?

Every time he saw a girl on the street he just had to gas it . . . broke the distributor shaft off against the firewall. Every. Time. :p

Moral of the story is, besides the challenges of making it work, what else might you encounter you never would have thought of?
