Yea just look up at the starter.

One bolt is at 12 o'clock the other at 6 o'clock.

It's super easy to do (I did it on the ground in my old apartment complex). Depending on how tight or loose you went, you'll want to take care to not strip those bolts.

To ensure I didn't round my bolts, especially the top one, I went as straight on it as possible. Used like 6 extensions and went over the crossmember even with a swivel and 6 wall socket.

If you mean the top one, use extensions.

    Bottom bolt is easy.

‍♂️ I can get the wrench on the bottom one but the exhaust is in the way of the wrench turn radius

    Disregard, I lied.

I did use a swivel and two extensions on the bottom bolt (a 6" and a 12")

Oh dude every DIY'er needs a swivel or two in every drive (1/2" 3/8" and 1/4")!

    Reserected from the dead.
Dial up door dash and have them bring you a swivel from AutoZone.

    Great idea

I once took an Uber just to get to my Tacoma from my apartment while my 4Runner was downed at my house; I had forgotten the new hardware for my coilovers at my storage :anonymous:

I don’t even see where the swivel would be useful

You realize that's a manual right?

Everyone that says this job is super easy either - owns a 4x4 manual, owns a 4x2 auto, or 4x2 manual.

The most difficult configuration is a 4x4 auto, but even that is easy. Just a little tighter in terms of access.

The picture I just posted

4x4 automatic, it's how you can gain easy access and get a socket directly onto the bolt without stripping it.

Here, best advice I can offer is for you to take a break.

Trying to work on your truck while being frustrated willl result in either you getting hurt or breaking something.

Relax, go inside, have a drink or a snack, come back later and reassess.

Engine bolts that are heat seized....I just pb blast soak em over nite....
and then give em a little torch........they always run home to mama's after that.....

When they're smoking.....they've lost all their argument.....

And I believe they sell 3/8" swivels right in the check out lane at autozone..
