I have a 95 Tacoma that has a blown head gasket and 200K on the engine. I am planning to buy a new (not re manufactured) 2.7 3 RZ engine long block and install it. Any dos and donts?
    Thanks

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Only tip I can offer is make damn sure you put oil in it. Some people get new crate engines thinking they already have oil in them. Buddy of mine made that mistake, started the engine not knowing it was bone dry and ran it for 10 minutes before it threw a rod right threw the block. Make sure and do your homework on the company making the engine too, there are lemons out there in the machining industry. Read lots of reviews.

I would caution about the sensors, there might be newer sensors in it that don't communicate well with your old ECM system so if it comes with any sensors replace them with new versions of your old ones so everything can work seamlessly.

this is going to be a great investment for you

Curious as to where you're going to purchase the new engine? I'll need to do this soon unfortunately...
