Swapping out 3rd member

    in the past i have always disassembled the drum brakes, removed the brake lines, etc, but i have seen on youtube where people have just loosed the brake line connections, removed the 4 bolts holding the axle in place and slid it out enough to be able to pull the 3rd member out. has anyone been successful in doing it this way, it sure would save a whole lot of time!

    I guess the only drawback is you would not be able to replace your seals

    Yes that works just fine. Main issue is resting the weight on the seals. Not great for them so at least support the weight of the drum.
