Hey everyone, so my wife just got a new vehicle and one of my favourite things I noticed it how bright the interior is when the lights are on due to the white leds. Has anyone here done this swap on the 2nd gen Tacoma’s. If someone has done this could you please provide part numbers and pictures of how it looks.

    thanks,

    chris

Thanks! @Babybluetaco, do you know what the dome lights are also? Have you done this to your truck?

I replaced my map lights couple of years ago; I can't remember where I got the parts but you can get replacement LED bulbs from places like superbrightleds.com. While it definitely makes it whiter, it's almost too bright (mine are a panel style, I'd go with fewer LEDs if I did it again). It's terrible for night vision, especially if your passenger decides to cut it on while you're driving. I keep saying I'm going to get one of the Hella map lights with a flexible stalk and red lens but haven't gotten around to it.

Not right off the top of my head I don’t. And yes I’ve swapped everything to led. Front to back

Two front interior lights are 194 base as well as the tag lights corner lights reverse lights and the third brake light bulbs all take a 194 base led

I order all mine off good ol eBay. Can get large amounts for only a few bucks. They might last a year might last 10 but there cheap to replace. Buy a pack of 50

The reg. cab Tacos have the worst int. lighting I've seen in any auto. I've ever been in. The change to LED was a great improvement. I've forgot the size, they are measured in mm, I think 27mm or 29mm. A must for the Reg. cab Tacos.

When I go camping they’re great because I don’t need a flashlight at night inside my truck. It’s really annoying unless you change them. Probably the best mod in my wife’s eyes. Literally.
