I've had Fox Performance Elite 2.5 (Fox provided sway bar relocation kit) installed recently and today I wanted to install back my skid plate and to my surprise the 2 braces that hold the skid plate don't fit because the sway bar is too low. Anyone experienced this? Is there a solution except removing the sway bar?

I have the exact same setup and have not had issues like that, but also didn't do the install of suspension myself. Is this the area you're talking about?

Do you have spacers like the ones in the picture?

What would happen if you flipped your sway bar? :anonymous:

I've been daily driving my truck for 2 years with the sway bar removed and I would never put it back.
With it removed you get more articulation off roading and when on road pot holes/bumps are less jarring.
My truck fully loaded is over 6000lbs and I do get more body roll but not enough to roll the truck daily driving. Maybe if you had to do the moose test it would fail worse, but the Tacoma already fails that test stock.

Are the two braces necessary to install the Pro skid? I thought the skid used the same frame holes as the braces, but with spacers?

Mine is lifted. 2.5". I fought with noise from the sway bar bushings, put on relo brackets, and then just took it off completely. I haven't looked back either.

That’s a good point I haven’t thought of. I’m not sure to be honest.

Fox 2.5 kit's usually come with spacers that go under the Rad support brackets. I am not sure about the elites but usually a 3rd gen will clear without them, but they are usually needed for the 2nd gens. Every vehicle can be a little different of course.

Spacers and longer bolts were supposed to be in the kit. I talked to Fox and they will get it to me.
I'm going to remove the sway bar anyway just to feel it and see if i like it.

I do, using the drop pieces the same kit comes with and its visible where the sway bar mounts (as far as I know since the shop I had do the install told me I wouldn't need the sway bar drop kit separately when I asked about it). Does your setup have stock or adjustable UCAs?

For those more knowledgeable than me, would alignment be able to affect the angle on the sway bar there? Wondering if the adjustable UCAs on my setup might have allowed my shop to ensure the sway bar clearance was made which the OP isn't getting.

I forgot I added Perry bumpstops up front as well, they definitely help the ride quality

Once you remove the sway bar say good bye to it. You won’t go back.
