I saw a thread about end links on the 2nd gen forum so I am assuming the situation is the same for 3rd gens but is the only reason no one is running quick disconnects on the front end link an issue related to where to put the sway bar when they are disconnected? Has anyone figured this out yet and installed a set of quick disconnects?

Yep. There's a guy in the BST section that was selling some cool sliding QDs. Although the last time that I looked, they were gone. I will see if I can find it.

That said, I believe that it was found that the Sport and Pro share the same sway bar part number. That thing is stupid stiff. Combined with the Sport springs, it was overkill. SB delete was a massive cure for me.

    Edit: Here's the thread:

It doesn't look like the OP has them listed for sale. You might want to hit him up though.

Yup I took mine off as well, made the body roll a lot more noticeable and well I'm not taking off ramps at high speeds not that I ever did but it's worth noting.

I definitely don't want to remove it all together since I do a decent amount of street driving but disconnects seem like the easy "cure". I'm just not sure why none of the normal sources have offered them for our trucks unless there is a good reason.

I hustle around corners until the tires howl. I also let it drift in wet. Recently, I've also had a few quick emergency swerves. With the Sport springs (700lb?), I have yet to come away with any pucker factor. That is just me though. You should definitely do what makes you feel right.

It does sound mall-crawly, but every time I go over the curb into my driveway at an angle, the more I appreciate the SBD. The fam feels the same way. LoL!

There have been a couple interesting proposed mods, but I had big reasons not to like them. Those in the link above get my $0.02 approval. :D

I did have a chance to drive a stock OR recently. There is a completely different feel there, and I would leave the SB alone if staying stock. I have no idea how a Pro feels.

I had some on an old Tacoma. Sway bar kept clanking around, so I never ended up taking it off. Helped a little in articulation, but not enough to justify it. Hard pass for me. If I were doing hard trails on a regular basis, I'd be inclined to just remove it permenantly.

If you do it: Some people bungeed the sway bar out of the way. But some were unfortunate and it ripped up the CV joint.

I've had mine off for 6 months now. Only time I ever got sketched was on the highway doing 85 on a slight bend and I hit a small dip and the truck felt like it got a little air. When I landed/had full weight on the ground again, the body roll was insane.
Other than that I've never had an issue with my sway bar being off. Feels amazing off-road and going over bumps when one tire hits the bump first.

We got something like that here:
    https://goo.gl/maps/o2fn5Wv4AGkG99C28

The exit is marked at 50mph. Anything but a Model T can roll through it comfortably in the rain at 60.

The dip is probably due to some soft soil. Only when I hit it at about 70 does the Taco hit the bump stop. It will do one wallow, then continue on. At 75-80 or so on my motorcycle, it feels about as (not) good.

Prior to with the sway bar, it was just a corner.

someone needs to make a sway bar disconnect like what the Jeeps have with the antirock sway bar setup.. just needs to be flipped to the front and I like the idea of a locking hub being used.. or even something as simple as a splined slip sleeve that you can pull to allow articulation, and release to lock in the swaybar...

There were projects that looked into using the jeep disconnect, I think I saw one successfully graft it to our bar. It's a lot of trouble just to stay clean and the parts are expensive.
Personally, I like a firm grip on the road, removing my sway made the truck more unpredictable. I put the Toytec spacers on them and called it a day.
