Hi everyone. I've been licking for a quick disconnect sway bar for my 2014 yrs sport tacoma. I have taken it off before. But I rather have a quick disconnect. I've seen images of some for a tacoma but haven't had the option to buy one. If anyone can help I would really appreciate! Besides the last time I took my sway bar off. I didn't take it all the way out I just disconnected and it got caught in the boots of my axle and flung grease everywhere so not doing that again

Whatever is happening in that picture looks gnarly.

Most people here just remove the sway bar, but i'm interested to see what people have come up with.

I see them occasionally in the for sale forum. From what I have heard some people are bothered by the rattle they make. Lots of people just remove the sway bar.

Yes, I removed mine. As long as you don't drive like an :censored: it's totally fine. It'll definitely feel different but I feel safe avoiding deer at night and such.

I was also hesitant to remove mine initially, but when my end links went bad I took it off temporarily. After a little while with it off I realized that it wasn't worth putting back on.

Watch out for your ABS sensors while taking the sway bar off. Ask me how I know :anonymous:

also its really not that bad driving with it off. been doing it for over a year now, half of that time was on stock suspension other half has been with 620# coils and really there's barely any body roll.

As you have experienced, it is not possible. Once disconnected the sway bar ends tear up the CV boots.
The only option is to remove it or modify a Rubicon electric disconnect sway bar (I'd like to see this done if possible).

Yes there is a noise. Makes a clacking and normally you can feel it by your feet a vibration or bump. If you can pull your sway bar link and it moves at all. You need to tighten them and it should do the trick. Or get new ones. You can tell by there being no more grease in the boot or bushing. Or it still makes noise after tightening it.

The end links are the lighter silver color part that attaches to the sway bar. In his photo you can see one side of it and the rest is going off screen to the left. When they loosen up it'll make a clunking noise whenever one tire or the other hits a pothole, goes up on a curb, etc. The allen heads were stripped out on mine so I wasn't able to tighten them. Instead of buying replacement OEM links I bought some allpro heavier duty links that have a much better attachment, but their increased diameter caused them to contact the spindle at full lock. Apparently they also require a relocation bracket, which I didn't have. Figured I'd just take the sway bar off and the rest is history, and the new links are sitting in the toolbox...

I have wondered about taking the front sway bar out and putting in a rear sway bar with disconnect. No cv boots to destroy back there. Not sure what the ride would be like with a sway bar in the rear only though.

For now no sway bar for me
