Sway bar touching cross member after coilover install

    Hey everyone,

    Just installed my Kings and TC UCAs. The ride is much improved over stock.

    Steering is still a little tight (haven't aligned yet).

    I went under the truck to re-torque some bolts after ~ 100 miles. I noticed a "clank" noise coming from my driver's side so I checked it out.

    My sway bar is touching the cross member on the driver's side. Has anyone run into this before?

    I'm also running a Pelfreybilt bumper and the associated frame braces. This dropped the King resi/sway bar relocation bracket lower another ~ 1/8" . Is that enough to cause my issue?

    Any solutions or suggestions?

    Either notch the frame brace back or ditch the sway bar.

    Yup you don't need those cross member. it's only to hold the stock skid.

    That was my guess.. now that the stock bumper is gone it's pretty useless. The foil skid plate is a joke as well. Thank you.

    It didn't look "functional," per say, but I also didn't want to start removing stuff without knowing for sure.

    I'm keeping the sway bar. :)

    Sure thing once you add the Pelfreybilt skid or any after market skid that are similar like it, those braces are trashed or put in storage.

    ^Beware the Budbuilt skid uses the stock braces. Other mfrs (Pelfrey, All-Pro, Relentless...) do not.

    I have been super impressed by the quality of workmanship of the Pelfrey bumper. Lots of attention to detail, fit, and finish. The skid is a no brainer addition to the rig.

    My buddy has the Pelfreybilt front skid and it will clear the swaybar :thumbsup:
