    This got out of hand!

Just to clear a few things up, I would never take anything or steal anything. What I said earlier was a joke and I will refrain from that type of humor from here out. I don't want it to be taken literally. I pay my bills, pay taxes, eat my vegetables, hold doors for old ladies, all that good stuff. I'm a good person and I thought I would just share my story.

Well stealing from people is out of hand be it your friends or yourself. Ps hanging out with people like that will get you in trouble I know this first hand and have learned my lesson about it.

I tried this at my local dealership too. They had a 07' or 08' SWB OR that someone had traded in that had a sport hood. Swung by and looked at it and if had a few minor chips in the paint. Asked the salesman what it would take to swap hood out with my perfect 2011 OR hood. He had a perplexed look on his face when I asked. Told him, this is the hood that should be this model of Tacoma, not the sport hood plus mine is slightly better finish wise than the one that's on there now. He talked it over with his manager and sadly it was a no go. I'm sure it's not impossible to make trades like this work. You never know and it doesn't hurt to ask.

Completely agree and I never meant to give the impression I was even entertaining the thought of stealing anything.

What I meant by "I don't take no for an answer" was the sales guy gave just immediately dismissed me with out entertaining it - perhaps rightfully so, it is a silly question. I just wanted to see what the manager would say that's all.

Again, no harm intended! We are all friends here!

It's ok. Say the phrases "Vehicle Inspection", "Emissions Test" or "Front License Plate" in this state and people will look at you like a confused dog.

No smog or emissions testing here in Maine! :D

    Both trucks are 2005s too.

Props for asking but what will a stealership charge you?
Buy the exhaust online less than $400 shipped new.
Sell your old one on CL for like 50 bucks.
It takes 2 bolts & some hangers to swap.
buy a double din from crutchfield. They give you the fit kit & the harness.
30 min tops to put it in.
All new no dealer no labor charge they give nothing for free I am sure it would be a $500 bill....
    G/L you never know...

So I got a call from the sales manager today and you all were right. Its a no.

Oh well, like I said no harm in asking!

Whats the deal though? I thought most people took off their aftermarket/performance parts when they trade in a vehicle so they can sell it on Craig's List, Uncle Henry's, Ebay- whatever. At least that's what I thought most people do. Whoever buys that Taco is going to have a sweet set up!

    Cheers all!
