Which also makes mpg even worse. I’ll probably bring the same amount but, 80L almost weighs an extra 200 pounds of luggage in the bed depending on the storage device.

i'm bringing 60L for sure might do 80L though. Not 100% sure yet. I agree it is heavy that is one of the things making me not want to bring all of it.

I'm just not sure how bad the fuel consumption will be on this trip

Guys, as a pilot we do weight and balance for every flight. Fuel weighs 6 lbs per gallon. It is far more efficient to carry 6 pounds than the fuel cost to transport 6 pounds. Your only consideration might be space. I would jettison something less useful than fuel if I thought it was in question.

On the upside, if y'all have too much fuel at the end of the trip, I'm sure Evgeny could find some entertainment value with the surplus on the last bonfire!

Starting to get the 'small' things all together. I have a coffee dependence in the morning, combined with coffee snob syndrome which only allows me to drink quality coffee.

Little press and manual grinder shall ensure I keep caffeinated with quality coffee all I want. Decent price at cnd tire, cant complain. :woot:

i'm the same way to an extent lol.

I agree freshly ground is best but I can deal with preground while camping.

    Check out https://www.jivacubes.com/
Honestly only tried them because a bushcraft youtube page I follow had them as a sponsor so at the time could get 15% off with his discount code. Ordered just to try them and they're not bad. I like the black ones.

I also figured these were good since I prefer my coffee black with a little sugar. This already has the sugar in it.
Regardless I absolutely NEED the coffee otherwise I'll get a pounding headache from not having caffeine

ya man. I got them just to try and it will definiely be my go to for camping now.

Only issue for me is I like my coffee strong so I need to use two cubes instead of one.

@llamasmurf and by strong I mean really strong lol. one job I was on I was told I'm not allowed to make coffee anymore because I was making it too strong for everyone.

Not my fault I just prefer the strong taste of espresso so I try to make my coffee like that :)

    haha

I on the other hand make it dark because I like to use 10% cream, which just makes it perfect :cookiemonster:

Need to try out my little press and figure out the mix I need in it for a perfect cup

honestly I used to do that at the trailer and camping but it just became so much work I gave up lol. Thats why I just grind it at home now and then bring it. And use a mokka stove top espresso pot.

But those cubes will definitely be the main thing this year.
And I think I'm going to somewhat follow eugene and go back to my more bushcraft/backpacking camp. Probably use the woodstove and camp fire cooking more.

Part of the coffee for me is the ritual, grinding and smelling that lovely mmmmmm is all part of it, and I shall bring that camping!@ :cookiemonster:

Yes I want to be using camp fire to cook as much as possible. Boiling water ect, I want to use wood as much as I can.

That was a wild weekend in general. With the rattlesnake, water recovery, trees, and that epic fire. Good times. lol

Who knows I might come out for a day during this trip depending on my schedule.

I just use pre ground coffee and a french press. Makes about two cups and I can make it all in one container, including boiling the water.
