Had I been at work it would be fine but this month has been expensive for me to the point I had to touch money I don't want to touch because ei wasn't enough. Don't feel like doing it more so might need to sit this one out.

    Sucks

I hear ya and know the feeling. I can try and make some calls and get you some work doing demo to tie things over until your work calls you. Not the kind of work you do but it's work.

I figure it's at least 3-4 tanks of gas round trip if not more. Even at current cost that's about $320 + the zec points and the fact there's a little bit of gear I still need to get thinking it would be closer to $400+ wouldn't doubt gas being more around there.

Given other shit that already was booked that the girlfriend and I did this month it's just a bit pricey for me right now when I have now been told it could possibly be another 4 more weeks before I'm back to work . On the plus side I've now been confirmed for a site they're just waiting on material and finalization on prints before they bring the 10 of us on the list for this job in. It's just that project manager and general Foreman that I've heard this from have an ETA of 2-4 weeks

I say you go, if you’re confirming 2-4 weeks, youll be off the week forsure were gone.

Come 2-3 months when it starts getting cold, $500 for this trip wont sound so bad then when you missed it. Plus youve spent how much on your truck getting it to the state so you can enjoy it and do these kind of trips. $500 is nothing, just wait two months for the next truck part instead of waiting 1

Its not a matter of being off that's my concern. For what its worth that was a week ago I talked to that foreman so that 2 weeks could be the week of swisha, although I don't know if that will be the case my issue is the funds.

I'm not doing anythign else to the truck until next year lol.
I'm on the fence for now. Will know closer to the day.
Truck is ready to go its other gear I'd like to have camping wise.

And there's always next year or another trip.

for what its worth I just had to have my shock that was already fixed checked today as the stud was coming lose again

dunno if itw as posted here before. but ya my shock was broken earlier this year the whole stud tore out of the top of it.
Ski at CT thinks it was from factory just not tightened enough and overtime loosened and destroyed the top cap. As the other rear shock still hasn't been an issue. He fixed it for me before and now it was coming lose again I brought it back he said he didn't use too much lock tight before as he didn't want to make it where, since its aluminum, with too much lock tight not be able to ever be removed again, but we both agreed at this point if it comes lose its going to damage the cap again anyways so at that point if it for some reason needs to be replaced I'll just replace the cap and stud again like before. So it was retightened and a shit load of lock tight applied. So it needs to be monitored now.

The driver side is still fine and with all the time I've had these hasn't been a problem its just hte passenger side rear. And the same shock was out of nitrogen when they had it out, cant find a leak but tightened all the fittings and recharged said to monitor it. As perhaps it was just when it was rebuilt last time something came lose and it leaked or maybe the valve wasn't tightened enough so it leaked. He has recharged it and checked for leaks its good for now just needs to check it again in a month or so.

Hopefully its all good now and this wont be an issue again.

To the point if I do come I am bringing my stock shocks that have been extended to fit with the Dakars so if something does happen I ahve spares lol.

I would rather not feel rushed and tight on cash for a trip and then do it next year when I would also have my LCA, winch, bumper and the camping gear I want to get for it

I dunno Joe, obviously you're on top of the situation so only you know best...however, from the advice (non solicited of course) of a guy who's been your age pls allow me to say this...

The expense of this trip will not alter your life either way. The absence of this trip might. That is the unknown. That is the possible seed of regret of a lost opportunity.

I'd wager you can recompense the lost 5 hundy in less than 6 months. I'll also wager that swisher with this group of guys, is unlikely to happen again.

Again, it's your gig...you know where your at...just giving a little perspective from "been there, got the patch"

I get what you mean. and trust me I know in the long run I can be alright again.

But I can see this trip happening again, especially between peter, eugene and myself and if its that good I'm sure Tony, Taylor and Wes will come again as well.

I'm sure there will be plenty of other trips to come.
I'm just extremely picky about finances, you'd think I'm not given my truck and the money I spent but really I'm a cheap fuck :)

Hey everyone. Two weeks until we tackle the loop. It has come to my attention that I may have been neglecting the thread as some people who are coming have not been added to the google doc or know what’s going on. That’s on me. We have two weeks to clear the air and get people in the “loop”

So far this is the rough list (from the first page) that I have
    People still interested
    1. @tacoma16
    2. @Tridet167
    3. @Joe23 (date permitting)
    4. @NorilskSever
    5. @Ttaco15
    6. @llamasmurf
    7. @Thyces
    8. @Theicemedic

If you have not been added to the google doc please let me know so I can share it with you.

If you are coming from out east and are planning to meet us, we will need to coordinate where along the route to the swisha we will meet (explained in the google doc).

Any other questions, pm me as I have been missing questions due to general conversation. Been having a hard time keeping up.

Hey guys. A few people were interested in some stickers.

I ended up getting ten made. I paid $30 for the ten so I’m just asking for $3 a sticker if your interested.

Courtesy goes to @Norilsk who made the design.

Also, I am thinking of bringing a 11x11ft gazebo for eating, chilling and what not. It doesn’t take long to set up but it is something else to bring. It does have a big netting. I can bring this along but if you think we won’t be using it, I could definitely save on bringing it.
