that was my thought exactly. I know this is going to be a multi day trip but it may take a month if we have to do what we did in ardbeg lol

Depends how many we get in for this and how everyone is built.
Six trucks all built up is fine. But three trucks built and three not can cause issues.

Ryan Glenn Peter and myself were all tight in ardbeg. If there's a bunch of us all built the same we're fine

fair enough. So essentially it comes down to peoples rigs and what not. Only other thing is camp sites. we wold be camping along the way I believe. I would have to double check the map to see where they are at and what not.

Makes sense to me. It can be based on truck set ups but shouldn't it be mixed so as to provide help to evryone?
Maybe time based might be better. Stagger meet up times?

See this makes sense to me too. For instance each group should have at least one person with a winch so on and so fourth. It really depends on how many we get and how built everyone is.

We would definitely have to decide. IF your lifted with skids or even just skidded I think we should be good....I don't know. Something to discuss/decide

I haven't been to Ardberg but I think the loop is "easier", longer but easier, with some spots that can be asked to think twice. But I agree that we may split in a few groups so we wont be slowed by others.

Of course it would be nice to camp all togheter. You guys who are coming from further should check where is the best spot to stop the first day. And each morning we can make 2-3 departure. And the first group decide where to stop for the night. We can also plan each stop each day before leaving but we all know that it will change on the way lol. Imo it is alsways good to leave some place to the unexpected

We should have minimum requirements for the trip:
    • 32" tires
    • Skid Plates
    • First Aid Kit
    • Fire Extinguisher
    • Tools
    • No crying if you damage truck (e.g. dents, ripped off bumpers, etc)
    • Beers

"Emergency" route and bypasses should also be planned in case someone want to leave sooner. And it is also good for those who want to do only a part of the trip

I agree. Im just concerned for those with a specific amount of time is all. Figured we have time to discuss and what not. But I agree. Im cool with what ever as this trip will be my shakedown run for newfoundland lol.

@NorilskSever I agree. Also make sure your truck is mechanically sound prior to making the trip

    LOL!!!

I agree @tacoma16. Ask yourself can I make this trip myself without help should be asked before committing. Just as a reference. Know what I mean?

Well, there will be help, we won't leave anyone behind for sure.
It's just we don't want to stop and turn back, because somebody has a stupid problem, say " I forgot to get the beers/water/tampons"

By setting up a timeline, each participant will be able to estimate the time the can be in the run and when it will be the time for them to take an exit or turn around. There is a few spots where a known road can be taken to go directly to a city/village.

Love it. I will try and make a loose timeline. It all depends what the expected amount of kilometre we want to drive per day as well. For a 800lm trip and dirt roads. I’m thinking 100kms may take 3-5 hours. If we try and go by 100-200kms a day, and a longer camp in certain spots that could work as well.

On the map I posted on the 2nd page there is a blue dot, under Lac Cayamant. There is a big, abandonned camping spot that might be good to receive all of us. It is right before the Zec Pontiac entrance, with a few spot we can explore while setting up camp. Depending on the time you guys from the GTA it takes to reach that spot it could be considerated to camp. For guys from Ottawa and surronding area, it could be too close if we start the trip in the morning.

That blue dot could be a good meeting place for camp the first day. Like a meeting point. Everyone meets there, whether we convoy it and just meet there. Even if we get there for noon, we can figure out groups, numbers and what not and set up a plan.

Of course we all help one another. I mean in terms of making sure your truck is at least capable as a minimum requirement.
I guess that's hard to gauge. What I consider "capable" someone else might not.

After the New Year see who's on board and start making plans.

We're all tacos right? And all second or third gens?

I'm thinking we should also carry some spare parts. Thinking
    Set of CV axles
    Wheel bearings
    Hoses
    Fluids
    Gas tank repair kit
Anything else you can think of?

Thinking be smart everyone should carry some rations as well. Freeze dried meals etc. Food could spoil.

I always have a water purifier and treatment tabs with me. But not enough to supply everyone obviously.

Perhaps spilt up parts to everyone. Someone carry spare parts then food etc.

But yes mechanically sound is very important.
Do a thorough inspection prior to for that matter. Make sure bearings are all ok, brakes, fluids etc

Recovery gear is another. Everyone coming should at least have some shackles and straps. Even a cheap set of recovery boards would be nice for everyone.

Even toilet paper. Bring a roll or two.

I know I was talking to Peter about SPOT might be an idea something at least one of us should have. Good to be prepared in an emergency

@tacoma16 I think you were saying it is rated lower right? Just mostly single track and obviously longer.
