Not sure if this has been discussed, but it’s all over gun-related sites that Switzerland has voted to accept European Union Firearms Regulations (which are strict and non-accommodating).

Why does this matter? Well, Switzerland was one of the very few countries left that let their people keep firearms to defend themselves with comparatively lax regulations. This matters, because soon the United States will stand alone, as a place where the citizenry have the right to defend themselves, their families, and their property, using common firearms.

I fear that in my lifetime, the same shortsightedness will take hold here, and “the people” will allow the repeal of our 2nd amendment. Soon thereafter, what we say, how we say it (Internet, spoken word, written letters), will then also become regulated (it’s already happened in the UK, New Zealand, etc). Then the rest of the proverbial dominos will fall, and our God given rights will be suppressed at the will of the government “for our own good”.
