Got a 2003 pre-runner extra cab with spidertrax spacers front and back, 265 70 17 nitto terra grapplers on 2005-2011 taco rims. The tires are only about 70% tread and rub the flaps and wheel well turning while backing and probably a bit at full lock. So I'm thinking if I went to changes tires and kept same size, the rubbing with 100% tread will be too much?

Assuming so, what tire size option (s) should I consider that will give the same or even slightly better clearance than current without losing the look I'm getting now?

Ps-I may consider a bit of a lift down the road at some point but don't see it until shocks/struts need replacing (taco has 67k miles on it, no off road) so I think that project is years away:)

most guys take off the mud flaps. i've never been a fan of them, but i can understand the need to keep them on. your only option is to downsize in tire size. 265/65/17 was the stock size on the 2nd tacomas with 17" wheels.

you can also take the adapters off which will probably help clear the mud flaps, but you might rub the frame at full lock(very minor).

thank you and that's good to know. that's kind of where my head was going and i felt that the change in tire size was minimal and wouldn't effect the appearance too much. i didn't know that was the stock size for those:)
