Good morning TW. I have searched and saw that some of you have installed a switch where I would like to. Can you please give me any tips or advise you have for installing my OEM style light bar switch in the center bottom console area please. I don’t want to cause any damage and I would also like to splice into a wire that gets powered with the headlights on and off so it doesn’t stay lit all the time.

The last thing I wired in a vehicle were some cheap auto zone interior light bars in my sweet 89' Cougar XR-7 like 13 years ago where I ran the wire in such a way that it made the e brake handle not able to fully engage...... So yeah, I would really appreciate the help.

Remove the bezel around the radio. Tug on the ac panel on the right side. Go to the left side and tug the part of the driver dash that is overlapping the ac panel on the left. Remove ac panel. Reach in from behind and pop that button out.

Wire the switch (look up the wiring diagram for the switch

For the light up feature, you can tie into the rear head lamp button that is on the left of the driver dash. Take a butter knife or panel remover and take out the whole left cubby/button panel and you'll see the wires that go to the head lamp button. I believe the brown wire at the top right end is ground and green wire at the top left end is power.
