Switch Panels

So I'm kinda lookin around because I need more than just 3 "rocker switch" type switches and I'm trying to ease up the current wiring situation under my hood... I came across these 3... Does anyone use them? How do you feel about them? One thing that stumps me is where do the negative wires go????

I think there are a few guys running switch-pros switch that is kinda like these but I think they are more expensive. If you plan on adding multiple things I think these would be the ticket.

 

Exactly... Same product... But marked up a lot (kinda like buying led light bars from china and etching your brand on it then re-selling it)

 

Exactly why I have a rigidhorse(Amazon China) led light bar instead of rigid or caliraised, I drive mainly street and can't use it very often so why spend a ton on it.

Switch Pros have tons of features and much better hardware (IMO). But, if it works, it works. I'm super happy with my switch pro.

To answer your question about the ground. There is one ground for the control unit but then you ground each accessory individually. The entire frame of a vehicle is the “negative” or ground.

 

This Whelen one looks solid... Price seems pretty damn good for such a reputable company (we use a lot of Whelen products on our rigs/cars here in Glendale)

 

Gotta admit, these two products look very similar, except one costs $400 less... :/

Yeah pretty much every police car in the country has Whelen controllers in them. It’s a solid product.

It works fine, however, sometimes it loses connection with the switch panel whenever I get too close to cell towers (whenever I go wheeling) or they don't switch on or off which can be a problem for obvious reasons.

Nope, a single 30” Rigid

 

Oh, it looked like it was double mounted

 

It hits the grille and throws light everywhere. It would be much more focused if it was in front of the grille.

 

I have mine mounted behind the bottom grill, would rather have them double mounted with an amber light bar as well

 

It's called perceived value. All the stuff is made in China. Multiple brands are made under the same roof. The Chinese companies will slap your logo on a product, and even make slight modifications to your line for a price (which isn't much). The manufacturing costs of an item are actually one of the cheapest parts of getting that product in your hands. The higher dollar stuff costs more in marketing and building hype than materials and labor.
It's every where and in almost every field. When you look at products and they are identical, like light bars and pods, it's because they are. Some importers might make a change to them when they get here like add extra silicone waterproofing, but that's it. They put them in their branded box and sell it.
Hell, even cars are built that way now. Lots of high end cars are not actually built by the company that has it's logo on the grill.
