Hey guys im new to the forum, I have a quick question. I have a 2016 automatic trd offroad, I was wondering when I put it in manual shift mode, is it possible for me to switch the + and - shift. Example unstead of pushing forward on the shifter to shift up it would be to shift down, and pulling the shifter toward you would shift up instead of shift down. Ive seen the same automatic shift pattern with the bmw without the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The Sport mode, "S", on these transmissions function only as a gear limiter. When you move the lever from D to S it will initially set the highest gear to 4. If you come to a stop then start moving again, it will shift from 1-2-3-4 and no higher. If you move the lever forward then the limit becomes 5; once again at it is 6. Pull back and it moves the limit down a gear. It is not a paddle shifter.

Sorry, I misread your post. Swapping the direction of the shifter might be possible by modifying the wiring associated with the shifter but not something I would attempt.

If you are brave enough to attempt this, it would appear that swapping the two wires in position 1 and 3 of connector T23 may do the trick. See page 3 of EAI-2GR.pdf and look for the SFTD nad SFTU connections (ShiFT Down / ShiFT Up). That connector is in the console, according to InpaneL-P4.pdf . If someone does try this please post the result.
