    How's it!

I'm curious if any of you with 2nd gen tacos ever owned a 1st gen prior to owning your second gen? Or, if any of you have both? I have contemplated trading my 1st gen double cap 4x4 for an identical 2nd gen model, except with the 6 speed trans.

I want to know if anyone that has done this now regrets it, or if they encourage it. Also, any current issues with the newer ('12-'14) 6 speed transmissions?

    Any opinions are much appreciated!

    Mahalos!

I've had both. 1995 4x4 extended cab with 318k miles and went to a 2005 4x4 Dbl Cab and have 160k miles currently. Loved the 1st gen and love my 2nd gen!

I never owns a first gen Tacoma, though I did own a pre-Tacoma "pickup" back in the day, and my brother-in-law owns a 2003 that I've driven quite a few times.

Anyway, I own a 2012 DC with 6-speed and I'm very happy with it. The second gens definitely drive a little differently than the first gen models, but for the most part I consider it an upgrade.

I also owned a 2005 Tacoma with auto transmission, and I gotta say that while I'm just the kind of person that prefers standard transmission, you really can't go wrong with the automatic on this truck either.

Resurrecting an old tread... I'm curious if anyone else has any input on this subject? I've been considering it more and more and have recently come across a good deal on a 2013 DC 6 speed. I determined that I would have to sell or trade my 1st gen (paid off) to do so, therefore, I'm strongly debating it in my head!
Any suggestions/ opinions/ comments would help!
    Thanks again!
