For some reason I'm having trouble understanding what will/won't work if I use the switchbacks and not do the DRL mod where I have to drop the fuse box.

Basically I want to order the switchbacks from V-leds and this load resistor from ebay:

Ideally I want the DRL to be white, as well as white when the headlights are on. Amber only for turn signal. Is that possible with only the resistor and switchbacks? I can do without the DRL function if necessary as I'm using some LED fogs as my DRL's right now. If I can't have the DRL white, then at least having it white when the headlights are on would be ok. I just don't want any amber when in the parking light position or when the headlights are on. All of my other bulbs have been switched to LED an the amber just doesn't look right IMO for anything other than the turn signals. Appreciate some advice on the simplest way to achieve this...

    TIA

It won't work because the DRL's and Turn signals use the same circuit. I looked at that too but realized it when I started looking at the wiring. Switchbacks are for (park/turn) situations white for park and amber for turn.

you can do it, but its PITA and involves relays... for white? Wasn't worth it for me. threw in some amber LED's to prevent the housings from cracking, modified the resistance in the blinker so they didnt hyper and called it a day.

Thanks. So what if I never set the dial to DRL...will they be white in the park position and amber for turns?

If so, that would work fine for me since I don't use the DRL position now anyway.

I got my Switchbakack LED's working. No need to swap out DRL Relay and Harness (didn't work anyways. 2012 wiring is different).
I got a hold of Tacoma 2012 Schematics, researched and did this procedure.
I explose the back side of the Diver's Side Interoir Juction Block under steering wheel. Locate the White, 12pin, M1 Connector which is plugged into the backside of the Juction Block.
I, rather than cut the wire. Disconnected the M1 Connector and with the proper Terminal Removal Tool, I pulled the #10, light green&red wire terminal from the connector. Taped it off so it can always be reinstalled if needed. This disables DRL's for good. Now you have manuel control of your lighting.
The result is: With Switch in off mode the Headlamps, Park Lamps and DRL's are off.
To turn on your White LED "DRL" put your headlamp switch in Park Lamp mode (only thing is that your Outer Marker Lights will be on also (but I can live with that). They will always stay white even when you turn your lights to Headlamp mode.
Your Outer Marker Lamps are now "Park Lamps". When you signal left or right the white FB LED's will switch and flash amber. They also will flash amber when Hazards are turned on.
It works for me. The Super White LED are really nice looking when on and no more annoying HOT amber bulbs to distort my lenses.
FB DRL's can also be turned off by simply switching HeadLamps to off mode.
Thats what I did. Hope it helps.
