I mentioned in my intro thread a few weeks ago that my first task was going to be a front and rear camera install. I was going to use the factory rear camera, but decided against it. I didn't want to modify too much of the factory wiring, so I opted for a cheap rear license plate camera. So now I still have the factory cam in the rearview mirror, and a backup/switched camera at the license plate. I have finished that finally and here is my brief write-up. Let me know if there are any questions.

I used a Sony XAV-AX5000 for my head unit. I did not do a writeup of that install.

All of the wiring inside the cab was tucked under the kick panel on the drivers side. You will tap the reverse light wire in that area since that is an additional trigger for the back up camera. There is also a ground there as well that you will ground the switch and the camera switcher.

    Wiring Diagram:
I'm not very good with electrical in general, so I had to draw it up and make my own wiring diagram to help with the install. And luckily, it all worked out as planned. I am sure some of you gurus will see an easier way to do some of this stuff, but this is how my simple mind works.
