The power from the battery, runs through a relay to the fuse block. the ING only fuses turn off and on via the pink wire which is tapped into the fuse as described above. I only used the fuse tap give me power only when I I had the Tacamo's ING on. BTW I looked at the manual for the painless, the pink wire runs through a 3 amp fuse. I have 3 fuses that are IGN only and I have 4 fuses that are constant.

I plan on adding additional lights and I will use this setup to run the lights. That way I keep all the add on stuff on separate circuits. the Axillary fuse block is already wired to accept lights when I add them.

I would just like to say that your posts on electrical knowledge all over the forum have been extremely helpful. Just wanted to give you a shout out because I have used your advice from other threads and have been extremely pleased with the outcome.

Understood. Maybe I'll just run a wire to the ACC fuse inside the truck and do an add a a fuse...

I will be getting an spod in the future so no need for this right now. I think the add a fuse to the inside of the cab will suffice until then. I do appreciate the info though

Is there really no source of switched power in the main fuse box of a gen 3? That little fuse box is underneath my powertray now, I think I will have to spend an hour removing/reinstalling to get access.

What does the INV power when ignition is on and what does the Battery charge relay actually do? I am curious because I am looking to provide ignition to a dual battery setup which will allow solar to flow back and charge my primary battery when the ignition is off. 0436DB0C-7A8F-4F2F-A4CC-9843049642F7.jpg
I was considering a setup with a jumpstart option but that is another relay and switch. I may do it eventually but one step at a time seems a better method. Anyway, if you can help me out with what the battery charge relay does and what the INV does it would help me decide which to use.

    Thanks

It's called thread jack, you should've posted in the 2nd Gen Forum.

In the images in the profiles (Rolando) looked like folks in the thread also had 2nd Gen (model to model in a Gen also seems to be slightly differnet) I was not trying to be rude, seemed like I was looking for the same thing. (ignition power to run a relay) I was just explaining the situation. Sorry to offend. That was not my intent. I will look and see if I can find a similar thread in 2nd gen section.

Some folks are pretty serious about it. So I do my best to be polite in the forums. :) No biggie. Either way I removed my post.

Yea I saw that, different type of fuse/relay so the earlier part noting the type of connection may not work in my case. So I figured I would dig around a bit to see what might work in its place, I do like that its in my main box (on the 2nd gen). It is super easy to get to and I don't have to remove my PowerTray. I will still stick a test light on it to be sure its only on with ignition but I suspect its the same.

which add a fuse kit did you use? I grabbed the nilight add a fuse kit and while it seemed to seat properly it was awfully floppy. i stopped there since i didn't want to learn what a fritzy INJ circuit behaves like.

That is the same fuse block I used for my stuff. I used an empty switched fuse in the cab for my source of the switched power, add a fuse. I power my wheel rock lights, door rock lights, rack side lights and grill LED strips with Constant Power. Hidden front LED bar, roof rack LED bar with switched power. All of them are fused with 3-amp fuses.
