Hello All I am new here and this is my 1st question,I have a 2001 Tacoma Ext Prerunner which my son rolled in a field..Grrr,anyways I bought a 1998 Tacoma Ext Prerunner with same size engine(2.7) in which eng is toast so I have taken the 2.7 from 2001 and have it basically bolted into the 1998( had to change tranny plug ins its automatic) the prob we are having is that the wiring harness will plug into the original brainbox from the 2001 that we switched with the engine but the wiring harness under dash will not plug in and we are at a standstill.........does anyone have a solution for this problem??? We are not too great on this wiring but I know that from what I have seen on this site that someone must know...Lot of Real Smart people on here!!! Thx in Advance for Any and All Help!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Matt Spencer

Gotta swap the dash harness from the 2001 for the 1998 harness.... You might have to swap the gauge cluster and some other stuff...
