    My truck didn't come with one, but I'm getting one from a guy who is putting a shell on his. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we will have to switch bed rail caps, right?

    Correct. The factory cover has special rails. If he's getting a shell, y'all should simply swap.

    Have fun with that. If the cab rail is any indication, they're proud of how tight they torque those down.

    Does anyone know what size torx bit the mounting brackets take?

    Not sure. The cab rail takes a #2. This might be a good time to invest in a decent set of torx bits for a cordless drill if you don't already have them. Doing them by hand is "challenging."
