Ok so I have an iPhone 10 and 2016 off-road with all the bells and whistles but not jbl. I have it sync up blue tooth and play all my music and make voice calls and try to do other voice commands which generally doesn’t work. The Toyota app whatever it’s called pops up on my phone when I get in the truck but I just hit ignore cause I have no idea how to use it. Does anyone know how to utilize this app and sync more apps from my phone up onto the truck screen. I know it does more but I have know clue how to do it. Thoughts and guidance would be appreciated.

I think you mean syncing your iPhone lol

For a second I though you flooded your Tacoma with your phone inside.

You hold the call button on the steering wheel to activate Siri.

You need to use the Entune app to use the apps on the HU. I believe there is still a problem with Pandora at the moment.

You can't sync very many apps from the iPhone to the trucks screen. I sometimes use voicetext and it's terrible, there is a big delay before it starts listening and the text it types out is never correct.

Thanks for the spelling assistance. I had 12 surgeries from a motor cross accident that almost took my right leg. I’ve Was under anesthesia more than 35 hour between July 2016 and March 2017 so my brain doesn’t work as well as it used to. Severe memory loss and brain fog. Not fun. Hoping to get it back with time. Now answer the question funny guys.

This was a spelling mistake anyone could make regardless of injury or brain fog. We’re just teasing no harm meant.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

To use the entune app you need to sign up for an account then sync it to your truck. It doesn’t really do much, it does give you access to a few more apps and any updates that are available. I haven’t figured out how to get it to log in automatically, so I just ignore the prompt when it pops up on start up. I’m not sure what’s going on with your phone, when mines synced it generally works pretty well.

What's annoying is once you do sign up for the etune app, it will automatically log you in for a few days, then log you out. It would vary how long it would stay logged in for, I think my longest streak was 2 weeks. If you hit "allow" on the prompt it just brings you to the etune app on your phone. Quite frankly, unless you're using any of the apps etune supports its kind of useless since you can still use bluetooth and voice commands without it.

Out all my vehicles, the infotainment system on my truck works the best! My Mercedes is awful. For all that money that beast costs, it's stone age stuff! I have the iPhone 8plus and have not experienced any issues. Voice part works great.

The best thing thing that needs to happen is the Tacoma needs Apple play or the Android version. The Entune app only connects the Pandora, iHeart Radio, Slacker and Facebook apps. I think I would stay away from FaceBook for a while with all the data selling and privacy issues. Who the sam hill would want to know where you are at all times? I know data sell!! You can not add any apps or delete any currently. I have SiriusXM and have no need for the other stuff.

Once Car Play and Android takes effect you can pretty much kiss the other stuff goodbye. No more map updates. You can bring your own music and real time map updates. If I were a betting man, I think there is some political hay-ham with the Apple stuff going FWD. I think there is feet dragging.
