I just updated my last post. I already got the ICONS rebuilt and asked them to revalve it more for low speed comfort. Figured if they're soft at low speeds that even at high speed they'll absorb bumps better. Taking a turn on the other hand won't be as stiff as before. Which is fine since I don't take turns too fast in my truck anyway.

I'm loving the way my truck rides right now. I think having some weight in the rear (larger spare, bedslide, bedrack, fuel tank skid, recovery gear, softopper and cbi bumper) all help with the ride too. I plan on mounting my hi lift back there as well.

It previously had a noticeable rake but with all that weight and new front end bushings/rebuilt shocks, it's a tad closer to being even. I'll see how it looks once I have a hitch and possibly on board air on the truck before fiddling with the height again. I don't want to go to stiffer springs unless it's my last resort. In talking with the guys at DSM, they stated the same thing as I previously mentioned. Less preload on the 700lbs springs and more preload on the 650lbs might ride the same.

How much was the rebuild revalve? Im highly considering just moving over to Kings.

I think it was right around $365. That's getting the shock rebuilt, custom valving and replacing some bearings. I would've went with Kings but I feel I haven't even used these up yet. So, I'll give it another go on the ICON's.

I hear ya, I need to make my icons work another year or two. My GFs second gen has kings with resi all around and the ride of hers is night and day better than mine.

Go for it man! I've driven 2nd gens too and stock for stock, they already ride better. I don't doubt that the Kings with resi's ride well, but I wouldn't compare the different gens in ride quality. I still want to see how a 1st gen on Kings, ADS, etc ride compared to my/our ICONS. I know my current setup rides way better than my previous Toytec setup but here were other factors that could have helped or hurt the ride (weight, add a leaf compared to leaf pack and so on).

Too bad we're on opposite ends of Cali...haha, could have compared the ride of the two trucks in person.

Yes that would be Ideal to compare lol. Well when ever I will make sure to get resi's and damping control. I think that can make a huge difference. Get exactly what you want when you want it.

I’ll be seeing you there. Pretty sure my fenders are going to be gone by the end of the day.

How do you like the ride of the Icons? I have 2.5 extended in the front with a stock rear... feels weird. Thinking about finally spending some money on the rear and buying 2.0s... or 2.5? bypasses. And leaves... eventually

I had the front rebuilt and re-valved, they ride a lot better now...really plush/soft. The rear I actually got for free from a friend of mine, they are paired with OME dakars and with a constant load in the bed, they ride good as well.
