I can't wait either. With the Holidays and having to visit family, all of my weekends have been busy. Hopefully they free up a little next month. I need to get out there again!

Thanks man! Yup, just an aal that was included in the ToyTec Ultimate kit.

The stock leaf springs seemed to be in good shape before the lift (didn't look like they were sagging at all), so I decided to save some $$$ for now. When the time comes to replace them, I'll look into new leaf packs.

Super nice! Can you take any pictures of the tires straight on? Looking for some perspective on how far they stick out from the flares.

    Any rubbing at all?

    Thanks! I agree!

Saw your build thread...what size Duractracs did you previously have? I didn't even think of going with skinnier/taller tires (255/85) till after I started looking up how to clear my 285's.

Never been there...pic was taken at Irvine Regional Park.

I have some crappy cell phone pics:

Here's a straight shot from the front

And one next to my co-worker (this might help you more)

They rub right before full lock on the rear-lower part of the fender liner. Then at full lock they rub on the frame just a tad. I did hammer out the pinch weld and cut some of the fender lining, but I'm going to have to cut/trim/hammer out much more since I plan on taking this out on the trail.

Thanks for the pictures and info. Getting new tires this summer so I'm taking any hands on experience tales that I can!

No problem. I've read detailed info on how-to clear 255/85-16's on our 1st gen's (I think it was on expedition portal) but haven't found a good how-to on the 285/75-16's. I'm thinking it's not too much of a difference. Once I have enough time (probably during the Christmas break), I'm going to try and tackle this.

    The Dura Tracs were 265/75-16
The 255/85-16 are a very good off road tire.

Saving for those exact tires and size as we speak to sit under my 02 Xtra Cab..How much power have you lost from stock tire size and what about are your MPG looking like? Any and all info would be great! My truck is my DD so I'm torn about going so big. Thank you and sweet truck!

My truck is my DD as well. Power loss is noticeable, but more when going uphill. Around town, it doesn't really bug me.

As for MPG's, when it was stock, I think I was averaging 15-17. Now I'm probably around 13-16 mpg. That's without accounting for the difference in tire size. Here's the "formula" I used to get these results:

Trip odometer set at "0" with a full tank of gas. At next fill up I divide the trip mileage by the amount of gallons used to fill the tank.

Talking about mpg's is going to make me miss my crx even more. I'm getting 34-39 mpg and that's driving it moderately hard. Having the Taco, crx and two other cars, I just don't have room to keep it...

Update on my current mpg's. I averaged a little over 18 mpg (highway, 75-80 mph) on my last tank full. I recently replaced my air/fuel sensor since it threw a code. I'm pretty sure the new sensor is the reason for the bump in mpg's.

Finally made time to get out there again after my lift, wheels and tires were installed. Went to the same spot but tried a few things that helped me confirm that my e locker works. Nothing too crazy since it was only my second time out there. Slowly working my way up to more challenging trails.

Thank you so much Synergy I'll have my sensor looked as well I've been having shit milage the last month and thats WITHOUT the tire upsize. But the stance of that truck is so ideal I guess i'll eat whatever mileage I get haha.

No problem. Replacing the sensor made a difference in how smooth the truck runs and idles too. I was preparing myself for the hit in mileage before I even started looking for a truck (coming from a civic, then crv, I knew it wasn't going to be close at all). With that said, it was well worth it to me.

Just filled up after driving around in the city and averaged 14.3 mpg. So at worst, I'm at 14. On a good day with everything going for me and my truck I'm at 18.

    Thanks for the compliment.

Quick question, I see your sliders are bolted - I want some too, mind telling me how much they cost you? Also, is Beef Taco local? I'd like to save on shipping if I could. Thanks man.

**edit - I went on Brian's website and sent him a pm as well.
