They're actually weld-on. In fact, I left my truck at Brian's overnight and he made and installed them during that time. He's out in Fallbrook so about an hour north of me...I'd consider him somewhat local.

Did you send him an email? That seems to be the best way to contact him:

    streetacos@hotmail.com

I'll PM you what I paid since I'm not sure what Brian charges nowadays.

On the list man! Once I purchase a set, I'm there!

Can I ask what made you go with the Bud Builts? I've seen others from RAT products, Skid Row, etc. but they all seem similar to me.

I like the BudBuilt. I bought the front skid from them and made my belly skid. Bud Built has a good name they are a small business and very good customer service.
here is the skid I made.

I see, too bad I don't have room (or welding skills...yet) to make my own belly skid. I like how you reinforced it with square tubing.

Do you know why I can't find the sliders for 01-04 tacos on Brian's website? I only see the 05-14 sliders. Maybe I should email him

If I remember correctly, that's what I did. I took a chance since I liked the design of his slider and he wasn't too far away. I can't remember what he said about not advertising the 01-04, but I'm sure he can still make a set for you.

I'll shoot him an email as well so that he is aware of some potential customers trying to get more info from him.

Sweet truck man! Thats how I want mine to sit whenever I get the money to do so. Is there a way to get the 285's without having to trim up stuff? I'd hate to cut up my taco but if there's no other way to not make it rub, I guess I'll have to. Also, how much did those tires run you?

Thanks! I had to trim for the front and at full tuck in the rear, the tires barely rub on the fender flares. I have 3.5" backspacing on my wheels, so they stick out more than usual. I paid just over $200 per tire.

Thank you! Just trying to catch up to you man! BTW - do you do side jobs? I'm looking for someone to make a spare tire carrier for me. Really wish I had more time and space to learn how to weld.

Thanks Dave! Maybe I should change my username to "66dave"...we have a 66 Mustang and my name is Dave (well, Davey) too. Oh and nice wheels!

Cool! I grew up around muscle cars/trucks. We're really a Chevy fam (my dad had numerous c10 trucks) but he couldn't pass up the deal on our current 66 Mustang. After years of owning it, he's decided he wants to give it to me (probably to make room for a Chevy). Would it be mean to turn around and sell or trade the Mustang for a 66-67 Nova II?

I'm about 15-20 minutes north of Chula Vista, so yes, I'm very close.

Is that the Matte DARK Bronze color? I effed up a wheel on some rocks a few weeks ago so I contacted SCS to buy a spare (which was my original plan). Luckily they have a few Matte Bronze left in stock. Should be here on Monday.

Matte gunmetal. You California guys are lucky when it comes to old cars, the rust belt here destroys them. Mine stays in the garage, only bring it out on sunny dry days.
