Hey my warn fairlead has seen much better days. Only lasted about 2 years. 1/5 stars.

What do you fine folks suggest I replace it with?

Honestly the problem wasn’t the fairlead, it was how far you pulled in the line. You have metal hitting metal. It will damage the finish, and with aluminum, it will go to hell quick if you get salt in it. Up north?

If you want to pull your line in all the way, make sure to get something like the factory 55 that is designed to do that. No metal on metal contact
Or just hook it to your bumper so that there is no metal on metal contact, or to something that’s cheap and easy to replace. What kind of hook is that anyways, it looks like a chain grab hook?

Oh man that’s a good point. Thank you for pointing that out. Yes up in Canada. Yes it’s the standard warn hook, might put a buffer between the metals or attach to shackle or something

I splurged on the Yankum one, where you just splice a loop in the end of the line with no hook. Use it with soft shackles. There's no metal to ding up the fairlead, and everything is tucked out of the way.

It is wildly expensive, but it's a really good design. I smashed my hook on a rock, twice, with the line run to a shackle on the side of the bumper. Decided it was time to change something, and I'm probably not going to change driving habits... so fancy fairlead it was.
