You can change the oil twice until 100k miles and be “fine”. The other guy will get fucked.
Or you can change it every 20k and go 200k or change it every 10k and go 300k or every 5k and go 400…

    the decision is yours

It all depends how you drive...low rpm mostly highway miles, you can change your oil every 10-20k miles like i did on my 2001 tundra...at over 300k miles with a new owner that truck still runs strong , doesn't touch a drop of oil. I use to wind the piss out my old toyota 4x4 pickups with the 4 cylinder or 6, even changed my non synthetic oil every 5k miles or sooner. Those motors were not healthy after 90k miles all started to burn oil. I even broke them in changing the oil after the first 1k miles. Back in the day i was very hard on my tucks just like my mx bikes, but at least they were rebuilt every 25 hrs of use.....sometime's much sooner for national events.

Agreed. Posted general rule of thumb. Someone towing 7k lb of coal in Alaska at -50F daily will have a different schedule

7,000 lbs of coal on a Tacoma. Won't need to worry about oil changes. Oil will be the least of the problems.

    yeah, I'm bustin' on ya.

Your point is the Use of the truck will alter the service interval.

I expect you creative types to be changing your water filters on your refrigerators every 3-6 months too. And your air filters in your HVAC four times a year. And rotating your tires every 2,500 miles.

Make sure to throw away a half-used roll of toilet paper too. Half a box of cereal. What else can we do this with?

SLOW DOWN THERE SWEET CHILD, THOSE FRUIT LOOPS ARE NO GOOD! POUR ANOTHER MINI BOWL! DADDY CAN AFFORD MORE!

Here's this thing that @Woodrow F Call did. It's the Blackstone bros doing exactly what you're saying and, I quote, "10,000 mile runs are a good fit for this V6." All the subsequent data says the same in Woodrow's report.

I'm not expecting this will change your feelings or behavior--you do you--but it may inform someone else that ends up on this thread.

The manual says 10,000. The data says 10,000. So....10,000 should be good for synth oil changes.

not to mention the gunk/varnish, and dirt. If your oil get dirty enough, it's like running lapping compound thru your engine.

Toyota doesn’t make their own oil, just like they don’t make their own tires.

Following your stupid analogy that means all tires are the same. Ya know because Mobil1 makes Toyota oil that must mean all Mobil1 is the same. Just like all Goodyear tires are the exact same compound, right?

Just quit while you are ahead. We both know OEM oil is a Mobil1 custom blend. Why start up this stupid debate in an already stupid thread?
